I’ve actually been busy scrapping recently, among other things. I’ve got one LO to share, but the rest are for member challenges at Scrapbooking From the Inside Out, so I’m not ready to share them here just yet. I’ve been enjoying my time there and getting to know the great bunch of ladies–from the owner Rachel, to the DT, to all the members.

I celebrated my 33rd birthday yesterday–nothing big, just my little family. My youngest DS will be 6 tomorrow, so I’ve got to get ready for his party on Sunday afternoon. Then, school starts back in just 2 WEEKS!! Let me say, I love my children dearly, but for the most part, I will be glad when they go back to school–although, I have enjoyed the little vacation from all the homework, projects, field trips, parties, send money for this, etc. I’ve been buying school supplies and stocking up for several weeks–now I just need to tackle the dreaded clothes shopping (at least we no longer have to buy shoes for my oldest DS based on what the pattern of the tread on the shoe bottom is).

O.K., here is the LO I wanna share today:

I’ve also found a great new site called Scrapbooking From the Inside Out. The site is about scrapping about your feelings and emotions. There is a great message board, a monthly kit, inspiration, and some wonderful people. The July kit is about “Freedom” and the many interpretations of this–the kit is jam packed full of goodies like Maya Road, Chatterbox Artylicious, Scenic Route stickers, and more. I’m Still Here

Yes, I’m still here! Staying busy with the kids, DH, and of course, my furbabies. DH took vacation last week–we managed to get away for a couple of days just the two of us. I really needed that after a month of 24/7 with my two youngest–I love them dearly, but sometimes you just gotta have a break. We spent the rest of the week trying to catch up on things around here. The weekend before we went to my nephew’s pool/birthday party and this past weekend was our city’s 4th of July celebration.

In between all of this, I have managed to scrap ONE layout which took me ALL day long to do because I kept getting interrupted repeatedly.

The cardstock is from my stash, PP is Webster’s Pages, Chipboard & Flourishes are Fancy Pants, Ink is Cat’s Eye and Staz On, Flower is Prima, Stickles, Skittles, Paint is MM, Alpha is Heidi Swapp, Rubons are Basic Grey, and Ribbon from my stash. I think that covers it all.

It’s Just Me

Just thought I should update–I didn’t realize it had been so long. I’ve been staying busy with the kids, numerous projects, a little shopping, and more organizing. I also spend some time at All Moments Remembered message board–a great group of ladies to chat with and the owner, Stacey, is on the board frequently chatting with us. Stacey and her DT are providing lots of challenges, ATC swaps, and a monthly crop–there is always something going on.

I’ve gotta run for now–hopefully next time will have some new pictures to share.

Random Ramblings

Things have been a little nuts lately since the kids got out of school–it’s only been a week and I’m already going crazy. I have managed to squeeze in a little scrappy time, though it takes most of the day to complete a layout between refereeing, feeding, and entertaining.

This layout was done with all Making Memories Noteworthy except for the little ATC picture which is by memories in the making by Leisure Arts.

The PP on this LO is Fancy Pants Celebrate line. The buttons, cardstock, ink, and flowers are from my stash. I used Sakura Glaze and Souffle pens for the title, and there are some Stickles on some of the buttons.

I also wanted to share a few things from my “redecorating” I’ve been doing:

I found these at the Dollar Tree and just couldn’t resist–they give a little splash of color and for some reason, I’m really loving birds in decorating and scrapbooking right now.

This is an extra special treasure to me–my husband bought this for me during our first year of marriage. Generally, it is in a much higher spot, but I think it will be safe where it’s at now. I love seeing this everyday as it is a reminder to me of what a special husband I have. It is also a reminder of how hard we’ve worked and how far we’ve come–you see, when my DH bought me this, he had to put it on layaway at an antique shop. These days, he could go out and buy this and not think twice about it, but back then, he was the only one working, and I was in nursing school. We still work very hard for our money, but sometimes I think at this point in our lives, we take these types of things for granted.

Getting Caught Up

Finally got a few things accomplished, so thought I would take a few minutes and update here. Not a whole lot of scrapping done lately, mostly spring cleaning and a little redecorating. I have, however, found a new use for some of my beautiful patterned paper:

The papers on the left are all Webster’s Pages that came in my May kit from All Moments Remembered. The paper on the top right is MME Wild Asparagus and the other two on the right are Cosmo Cricket. My next project is framing some of my favorite layouts. I have a wall in my living room that I plan to use for nothing but framed scrapbook pages. You can get the 12×12 frames at Walmart for about $7, but if you have alot of embellishments, the regular frames don’t work as well. You can also get frames that are made to frame old record albums (I got a couple at Big Lots for $5 each). They are slightly larger than 12×12, but are made to fit thicker materials.

I’ve also been doing a “little” shopping. I’m waiting on an order from last week from AMR, but I also placed an order last night and this morning for items Stacey has on pre-order. If you haven’t checked these items out yet, you need to go now. She has Cuttlebug embossing folders, stamps, Sakura gel pens (love the look of embossing you get with these pens), flowers, and probably the item I am most looking forward to, the Cosmo Cricket “Hello Sunshine” paper pack. I can’t wait to get my goodies!!

Another Day

I finally got a chance to get some of my recent layouts uploaded to share.

The layout above was done entirely with the May kit from All Moments Remembered. I think changing the photo to black and white (actually it turned out more sepia) really made a difference).

This layout was done with Cosmo Cricket papers, Prima flowers, and other bits from my stash.

This layout was done with Dude Designs patterned paper and cardstock from my stash. I cut the arrows using my Cuttlebug, the stamp is Stampin Up, and the brads are Making Memories.

I got some baskets and things last night to help with my organization, now I just have to actually do it. We’ll see how much I can get accomplished today between playing referee with the 2 little ones and cleaning house.

Changing It Up!

So, I’m changing up my blog a little. The colors I had were just too dark and I wasn’t thrilled with the layout when I started putting things together. It’s still a work in progress, but so is pretty much everything else in my life! I’ve got a few new layouts I need to post and some others I need to work on–I have so many ideas in my head, I just need to get them done. I’m also trying to organize my scrap space a little more–I even have encouragement from my DH to spend money to get more storage (he wants everything to be more coordinating and hidden as much as possible). I don’t have a problem spending money, and I guess I’ll let him have a little say in things since he does enable and encourage me, as well as building me a beautiful desk and cabinets for my office/scrapspace (which he has to look at everyday). So, it looks like I’d better get busy!

My Newest Discovery

I’ve just recently discovered Etsy. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a website for people to sell handmade or vintage items. There are all kinds of goodies on there from clothes and soap to scrapbooking supplies. Loads of inspiration with every click–handmade tags, crocheted flowers, and the list goes on. So, if you have a few minutes (or a few hours), stop by there and look around.

New Adventure

Today is the day–I’m finally starting my blog. I’ve been planning to do this for a while, but get distracted by other things (namely 3 kids). I’ll try to keep things current, but this is part of my relaxation experience with scrapbooking, so I don’t want to feel like I HAVE TO update daily. Anyway, I hope you’ll join me as I regroup, reorganize, and replenish my stash now that I am back from my “time out”.
